Our core service is to provide straightforward and practical support, advice and guidance so that you have the time you need to think and decide on the funeral service you require.
Once you have appointed us, the first step is to bring the person who has died into our care, either from their home, a care home or possibly the hospital. Everyone who is in our care is looked after at our two offices in Burwash and Heathfield. An important point.
Every family we meet is different in what they require. When you are ready, we would be pleased to learn of your thoughts as to the funeral arrangements and discuss a number of points with you either at our offices or if getting to us is difficult, we can visit you at home.
Some of the points to discuss are:
- Should the funeral be traditional, contemporary or a natural burial?
- Choosing a coffin
- Arranging a venue, celebrant, date and time for the funeral
- What funeral transport requirements you may have.
If there are aspects of the funeral service that the family may wish to undertake, such as bearing the coffin, preparing the service sheets, then we will be flexible and our services can be tailored to your needs completely.
The repatriation of a family member either to or from the UK can be a distressing time. We are experienced in this area and are able to support you to/from any jurisdiction.
Following The Funeral
In the period following the funeral, there may be some other points that you need to help and support with, such as:
- Arranging for the interment or scattering of ashes
- Selecting and arranging for a suitable memorial tablet or headstone to be erected
