There is just one cremation chapel at this site that can normally accommodate up to 120 seated people with plenty of standing room. So if you’re attending a service at Wealden Crematorium; you’ll appreciate this stunning room with floor to ceiling glass windows where you can see out to the wonderful countryside. Even on a rainy day this is still a calm and peaceful chapel with a real sense of space for everyone. Both our branches at C. Waterhouse & Sons and Heathfield Funeral Service hold funerals in this beautiful setting.
As part of the ongoing service offered to families; there is a media system available to broadcast the funeral service privately and securely over the internet. Thereby enabling friends and relatives to view the service anywhere in the world. This is a vital service at the moment, especially with limited numbers being able to attend a funeral service. The full service can be viewed either ‘live’ on the day by logging in at the correct time, or ‘on demand’ up to 28 days after the service.
There is also an undercover area with screens and speakers for really large services.
Here is a short video to show you what you can expect to see when visiting Wealden Crematorium.
Next to the chapel there is a public waiting room, a room displaying the Book of Remembrance and following the chapel. When families and friends leave after the service, they will walk out into an enclosed open air “flower court”. This is where most families will stand to speak with one another and view the flower arrangements.
The entire funeral service may take place at the crematorium, or a service can be held elsewhere followed by a ‘Committal only’ service at the crematorium.
You may choose to have no service at all and the coffin can be taken direct to the crematory.
Car parking facilities are excellent at this crematorium. With up to 150 spaces and the flow of the site ensures a smooth and calm service throughout for everyone attending the service at Wealden Crematorium.
